Motor, Battery & Range Differences
The Discover 1 has a 500W Class 2 (900W peak) motor and is powered by a 14.4Ah battery. You get upto 58 miles using Throttle and upto 65miles using pedal assist on one charge. The Ride1Up 700 however has a 750W hub motor and 15Ah battery with a promised range of 30-50 miles. The range varies depending on rider weight, terrain etc.

The 700 outperforms the Discover in many areas including motor size, pedal assist modes (9 vs 5), gear speeds, and size. But the Velotric Discover 1 is cheaper at $1249 compared to the 700’s $1495 price tag and you can also use my coupon – REF60701 to get 60$ off the price. So if you’re on a tight budget and don’t mind the small downgrade then the Discover 1 is the way to go.
